American Style Lasagna Our cook gets rave reviews. Below is one of her favorite recipes. 8 oz. medium egg noodles
1 lb. ground beef
2 10 3/4-oz. cans condensed tomato soup
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 lb. cottage cheese
3/4 cup sour cream
1/3 cup chopped green onion
1 small green pepper, chopped
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain, set aside. Brown ground beef, drain, add soup and mix well. Set aside. In medium bowl, combine cream cheese, cottage cheese, sour cream, green onion, green peppers, salt and pepper. Mix until well blended. Spray 9x13 baking dish with non-stick baking spray. Place half of egg noodles in bottom of pan. Cover with half of cheese mixture. Repeat each layer. Top with meat mixture and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving. Serves 6-8 |
