Finances

1. How do Hope Village lease charges compare to other facilities? 
Hope Village’s lease charges are below many of the senior housing options in the area with similar amenities.

2. How can I terminate my lease contract? 
Although we prefer a year-long lease, the lease contract can be terminated with a 60-day notice. We also offer short-term stay and respite options.

3. What is included in the monthly base rate?
In independent living apartments, the lease covers heat, hot water, cable access, weekly housekeeping, pendant alert system, one main meal daily, major appliances including washer and dryer, transportation, carports and storage units.



Staffing

1. How do staff members relate to residents? 
Hope Village staff employ Christian values in a culture of service.

2. Is there a licensed nurse on the premises? 
Both the administrator of the facility and the director of the Assisted Living area are licensed nurses with experience and qualifications in home health care, hospice and hospital level care and supervision.

3. Are background checks performed on all employees?
Yes.  The safety of our residents is always one of our first concerns. We make every effort to ensure that employees who provide personal care to our residents are both qualified and suited to that responsibility.

4. Is a staff person on site at all times?
We guarantee that a staff member will be on duty 24 hours everyday, including holidays.



Services

1. Are health monitoring services available?
Blood pressure checks are routinely available.

2. Does Hope Village use a certain pharmacy?
You can use the pharmacy of your choice for medication management and supervision.

3. What kind of activities are offered?
Activities include trips to shopping areas, restaurants, color tours, craft projects, movie and game nights and more. A monthly calendar of activities is provided to each resident. The activities directors plan the calendar with input from the residents.

4. Are religious services available?
Weekly nondenominational church services are held on site, as well as a rosary group and monthly Mass. A weekly Bible study is led by an area pastor.

5. Is transportation available for individual appointments?
Hope Village has a bus as well as a van with a private staff driver to take residents on shopping trips, to the bank, pharmacy and Kmart on a weekly basis. Individual trips to doctors, dentists, etc., can be scheduled with the driver at no charge.

6. Are beauty/barber services available on site?
Yes, a beauty/barbershop is on site.

7. Are housekeeping services available?
Weekly light housekeeping is included in the rent. Arrangements can be made for additional services, such as window washing.

8. What laundry facilities are provided?
Every apartment has a washer and dryer, an amenity we offer that is not found in most other local communities like ours.

9. Can residents bring in outside services?
Hope Village is your home. You may contract with most outside services.



Physical Environment

1. Do all units have a private bathroom?
Yes

2. Is a handicapped-accessible bathroom available?
Yes

3. Do apartments have full kitchens?
All independent living apartments have a galley-style kitchen with full-size appliances.

4. Can residents bring their own furnishings?
Residents furnish their own apartments. In respite care and short-term stay options we can sometimes provide basic furnishings at no extra charge.

5. How much storage space is available? 
Each apartments has full-sized or walk-in closets; additional storage areas are available inside the facility.

6. How is the temperature controlled?
Residents can control heating and cooling  in their own apartment.

7. What common areas are available for social gatherings and activities?
There are two large, comfortable commons and activities areas, as well as two large lobby/gathering spaces.

8. Can more than one person live in a unit?
Yes, couples are welcome.

9. Is the residence easily accessible to visitors?
Visitors are welcome at Hope Village. Convenient parking is available for them. An intercom system at the doorway and a receptionist during business hours help visitors feel welcome and comfortable.

10. Is the location convenient to hospital and support services?
Yes.  We are also near a large grocery store and Kmart plaza.

11. Where is the building situated?
Hope Village is located on 10 privately owned acres of woodlands full of deer, wild turkey; you may even see an occasional eagle.

12. How can residents enjoy the grounds?
There are sidewalks for walking. Residents are encouraged to enjoy the outdoor atmosphere and walk the grounds for exercise and enjoyment.

13. Will I feel safe?
Hope Village is in a mostly residential area. Our nearest neighbor is a church next door.



Policies and Protections

1. Are there restrictions on visits by children or young adults?
In independent living, residents treat their apartments like their homes; we do not have age restrictions for visitors. Your apartment is your home and you may invite any guests you choose.

2. Are overnight visitors allowed in resident rooms?
Yes.

3. Are pets allowed?
Hope Village is pet friendly. There is a small monthly charge and a size restriction for dogs. All pets are required to be on a leash if outside the owners apartment. Vet records are required.



Meals

1. Are meals included in the basic rate?
In independent living, one main meal is provided. Additional meals may be purchased. In assisted living, three meals are provided.

2. Can meals be delivered to a resident’s apartment?
Yes

3. Are special diets accommodated?
Yes, but, Hope Village is unable to assume responsibility for a resident’s choices.

4. What's on the menu?
Hope Village cooks from scratch, with a delicious and varied menu. Homemade bread and cookies are a highlight.

5. Can guests eat with residents?
With 24 hour notice, we are happy to accommodate guests.  The cost is added to the resident’s monthly bill and varies from $7 to $10 per meal.
